DR. A. JOEL DAGNONE

Dr Dagnone is a Urologic Surgeon. He completed his MD at Queen's University and his urology residency at Dalhousie University in Halifax, NS. He then returned to Ontario to complete an Endourology and Laparoscopy Fellowship at the University of Toronto, St. Michael's Hospital.
Dr. Dagnone is a staff surgeon at Trillium Health Partners and operates out of Mississauga Hospital, Queensway Health Centre and Credit Valley Hospital.
Dr. Dagnone is the Physician Lead for Urology at both the Mississauga Hospital and Queensway Health Centre and is a lecturer in the Department of Surgery at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Dagnone is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCS(C)) and is a member of numerous professional organizations including the Canadian Urology Association (CUA), the American Urology Association (AUA), the Societe Internationale d'Urologie, as well as the Endourology Society.

SURGERIES - Due to reduced hospital resources and a significant surgical backlog, surgeries will continue to be prioritized. Covid-19 test swabbing prior to surgery is required for patients who are NOT fully vaccinated. See additional information below.
CYSTOSCOPIES - Cystoscopy appointments are at the Queensway Health Centre (150 Sherway Drive). Please arrive one hour prior to your appointment in order to register at the main registration desk in the hospital lobby. There is no special preparation for cystoscopy - you can eat, drink and take your regular medications. You can also drive to and from your appointment.
SURGICAL CLINIC/AMBULATORY CARE APPOINTMENTS - Urology Ambulatory Care in-person appointments are at the Queensway Health Centre (150 Sherway Drive). Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment in order to register at the main registration desk in the hospital lobby.
OFFICE APPOINTMENTS - Scheduled outpatient in-person office appointments with Dr. Dagnone are at 89 Queensway West, Suite 312. Please wear your mask.
IMAGING APPOINTMENTS (Ultrasound, CT, MRI or Biopsy appointments) - if you have a question or if you wish to reschedule your appointment, please contact the Diagnostic Imaging Department of the hospital directly at 416-521-4069.
* Please allow 2-4 weeks for Dr. Dagnone's review, prior to a follow up appointment for results which require a discussion about next steps.
If you are an ACTIVE patient and require a prescription refill, please ask your pharmacy to FAX a request for authorization. (Plan ahead - allow 3-4 days for Dr. Dagnone's review and authorization.)
* COVID-19 SWAB TESTS - UNVACCINATED (less than 2 approved vaccinations) patients require swabbing before surgery. This is to be completed at the Queensway Preoperative Assessment Clinic (150 Sherway Drive, Etobicoke). The hospital will contact you directly (approximately 1 week before your surgery) to schedule an appointment for swabbing 48-96 hours prior to your surgical date. There are no exceptions to this hospital policy.

REZUM Water Vapor Therapy
Rezum is a minimally invasive treatment for men with BPH (enlarged prostate). It is an outpatient procedure and an alternative to surgery, with an aim at preservation of sexual function while improving frustrating lower urinary tract symptoms.
